I was so excited about photographing former British Prime Minister Tony Blair speaking at a roundtable for his African Governance Initiative that I couldn’t get there early enough. When I got to the room I saw this huge flower arrangement right behind the seat where Blair was going to sit. No one noticed the arrangement but me, and then I went into action. I told the person in charge that she should have the flowers removed, but before they had a chance Blair came in and sat down. I took a quick photo and showed it to the organizer of the roundtable.
Quickly the hotel staff was called in to remove the flowers and I was able to photograph Blair minus the flowers. All was good and very happy as usual that I got to my assignment early.
