I’ve walked by the Noodle Bar on Carmine Street in Greenwich Village numerous times, but on this rainy Saturday afternoon the light was soft and the colors evoked the feeling of a Hopper painting.
I saw people walking by with umbrellas and thought this might make for an interesting photo.
I waited and of course, as luck would have it, people stopped walking by.
The composition was nice, but thought if a human element could be added somehow the image would be much more striking.
Finally out of the corner of my eye I saw a person approaching with a light blue umbrella. Two snaps and she was gone…..but I got it! I was that sure.
One thing I’ve learned over the years, patience and a little bit of luck.
